Back in 2014 I went through a string of dead-end jobs and was, then, working for the worse employer of my life.
I didn't want to be at the mercy of who I was working for and was desperate to get out. I wanted to start something of my own but didn't know what.
My partner had always wanted to start a Caribbean restaurant, but after looking into it, was well out of our budget.
That's when we hit on the idea of going mobile after seeing a number of food markets pop-up in my home town of Bristol. So we bought a food trailer and pitched up.
I had no food catering or real business experience and, needless to say, wasn't all plain sailing and was a very steep learning curve.
I started selling a range of healthy foods and it was slow at first. I was actually on the verge of giving up in 2015, but things started to change, as my experience and confidence grew. I am glad I stuck with it.
Since then I’ve learned a lot and have helped my partner start a Caribbean street food pop-up and my business has evolved into what it is today,
It continues to be an interesting journey........
